Global reinsurer Munich Re has appointed Bob Algie as property, construction and engineering manager for Munich Re Australia’s Global Markets Specialty division, effective in the second half of 2026.
In his new role, Algie will lead the establishment of the real estate, construction and engineering underwriting teams.
He has over twenty years of experience in property product management for local and international insurance companies and underwriters, with a proven track record of delivering commercial and portfolio results.
Algie joins Munich Re Specialty from QBE Insurance where he was Head of Property, Energy and Marine.
Prior to this, he served as QBE Head of Industry Verticals (Property, Liability and Fleet) and Interim Head of Underwriting (Marine and Logistics).
