Milliman, Inc., a global actuarial and consulting firm, has launched Milliman AI Solutions, a dedicated practice working alongside the firm’s existing insurance, healthcare, and employee benefit teams to offer solutions powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
The newly established unit will ensure that AI deployments are grounded in domain expertise and aligned with clients’ broader strategic and regulatory environments. It will serve insurers, healthcare organisations, financial institutions, amongst others.
Building on Milliman’s existing data science capabilities, the firm offers a designated service built for companies looking for trusted governance, risk quantification, business advisory, and how to differentiate strategic opportunities from the AI hype, said the parent organisation.
Initially, the unit will help clients address accelerated claims review, healthcare inflation sentiment tracking, automated regulatory compliance reporting, enterprise-level internal governance, monitoring, and controls, and unlock institutional knowledge with AI.
Incoming Chief Executive Officer for Milliman, Jim Fulton, commented, “Milliman has always been at the frontier of how quantitative thinking transforms industries, and AI represents the latest frontier.
“Milliman AI Solutions reflects our conviction that the clients we serve deserve more than off-the-shelf AI—they deserve solutions built on the actuarial rigor, intellectual honesty, and deep market knowledge that have defined Milliman for generations. I am proud that we are meeting this moment, and I am confident that Milliman AI Solutions will match the needs of tomorrow’s client.”
Alexandre Boumezoued, Milliman AI Solutions Leader, said, “The market has been waiting for a firm that can deliver AI solutions with deep subject matter expertise behind them. Any technology firm can build a model. What our clients need—and what we uniquely provide—is AI that has been designed, validated, and deployed by the people who understand their business from the inside out.
“Milliman AI Solutions exists to bridge that gap. We are not applying AI to problems we don’t understand. Instead, our professionals are applying new technology to problems they’ve been solving their whole careers—and that makes all the difference.”
