Duck Creek Technologies, a provider of software for the property and casualty insurance industry, has announced the appointment of William Magowan as Chief Sales Officer.
In his new role, Magowan will oversee the company’s global sales operations and drive growth initiatives as insurers continue to invest in modern core systems and agentic AI.
The executive brings over two decades of sales leadership experience within the insurance technology sector.
Having been at Duck Creek for more than 13 years, he has helped build a high-performing sales team focused on delivering measurable value for insurers as they modernise core operations, expand into new markets, and apply AI across underwriting, claims, and the broader insurance lifecycle.
Magowan, said: “Insurers are looking for partners that can help them move faster, make better decisions, and build a foundation for sustained growth. Duck Creek is uniquely positioned to meet those needs with a proven global platform, an expanding portfolio of capabilities, and a clear vision for how AI can create measurable value across the insurance lifecycle. I’m excited to lead our sales organisation as we help customers turn modernisation into a competitive advantage.”
The appointment comes as Duck Creek enters fiscal year 2027 with significant momentum. Following the acquisition of Send Underwriting, the business achieve one of the highest volumes of new bookings in its history for fiscal year 2026.
This performance demonstrates increasing market demand for its cloud-native core platform, Agentic AI Platform, and expanded underwriting capabilities, the firm noted.
Hardeep Gulati, Chief Executive Officer of Duck Creek, commented: “Duck Creek is entering FY27 from a position of strength, with meaningful market momentum, a differentiated platform strategy, and growing demand from insurers that want technology to drive profitable growth.
“Over the past two years, William has expanded his leadership from North America sales to include EMEA and APAC, helping guide the team to our strong FY26 performance. As Chief Sales Officer, he will lead our global sales organization through its next stage of growth and help us deliver on our FY27 goals.”
