Independent insurance broker Lockton has strengthened its leadership position in Asia, with Nicholas Lee joining Lockton Sime as CEO designate for Malaysia, while Jaideep Sharma has been appointed CEO for India.
In his new role, Lee will work with the team to build a strong foundation to expand a high-performing client-centric brokerage, drive growth, strengthen partnerships and deliver meaningful results for clients.
He has over twenty years of experience in insurance brokerage, risk management, analytics, catastrophe modeling, bancassurance and strategic consulting.
Lee joins Lockton from Moody’s Analytics, where he served as Asia Pacific Director of Insurance Solutions and Head of Client Coverage.
He also founded his own consulting firm focused on emerging risks, strategic growth and insurance transformation, advising insurers, reinsurers and brokers on how to leverage data, analytics and artificial intelligence to improve performance across the value chain.
Lee rejoins Lockton after previously working at Lockton Singapore, supporting landmark projects and major insurance programs for multinational clients.
As part of the transition, Muhammad Yahya Ibrahim will serve as Special Advisor to Lockton Sim.
Lockton said in a recent press release: “We are pleased to welcome Nick back to Lockton and congratulate Yahya in his new advisory and leadership role. Their experience, energy and commitment to client success will further enhance our capabilities and support our continued growth in Malaysia and across the region.”
Sharma becomes CEO of India while continuing in his dual role as Lockton’s regional head of Asia expertise and will be based in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Dadia has moved from Lockton India CEO to non-executive director, continuing to be associated with the business he established in 2024.
Lockton said: “We are deeply appreciative of the significant growth he has driven over the past two years. He has leveraged his entrepreneurial passion to create the fastest growing new licensed broker in India. He has provided the energy to transform the company from a startup to a fully operational broker, and we know that with Sandeep looking to launch entrepreneurial activities, other businesses will now benefit from the same enthusiasm for developing new business.”
Sharma brings extensive global leadership experience in complex, multinational businesses. Most recently, he served as Head of Multinational Growth for WTW CRB NA.
Prior to joining WTW, he served as the Connecticut market leader at Aon, overseeing operations for 250 employees across risk, health, wealth and human capital.
Sharma started his career at Marsh Aviation and later became CEO of Marsh Saudi Arabia.
“Nick and Jay represent the best leaders in our industry, with deep expertise, global perspective and an unwavering commitment to customer focus,” said Tony Hardy, CEO of Lockton Asia.
