Africa Specialty Risks (ASR), the developing markets-focused reinsurance group, has announced the appointment of Kieran Wilson as senior energy underwriter.
In his new role in London, Wilson will focus on growing and underwriting ASR’s energy portfolio, working closely with brokers to develop the group’s oil, gas and wider energy business in Africa and other emerging markets.
Wilson will report to Syndicate 2454 Head of Energy and Deputy Active Underwriter Suzan Pardesi, who commented: “Kieran is an experienced underwriter with strong technical energy underwriting expertise and strong broker relationships.
“His experience supporting complex oil and gas projects will help deliver solutions for our customers and partners as we continue to expand our energy portfolio in Africa and the Middle East.”
Wilson brings extensive experience in the Lloyd’s, corporate and MGA markets, with a focus on the downstream energy sector and additional expertise in the upstream, midstream and power sectors.
He joins ASR from Helyx Group, where he was the company’s head of energy. His career also includes positions at Barents Re, Chubb, Mapfre Global Risks and ArgoGlobal.
