The International Underwriting Association (IUA), the representative body for underwriting companies in the London insurance and reinsurance markets, has confirmed two new appointments to its secretariat team.
Both new hires will join the IUA’s Underwriting and Claims division, which supports a number of member committees dedicated to sharing expertise and improving market practice.
Pria Punni has been appointed senior underwriting and claims executive. She joins IUA from a London market underwriter with extensive experience working in the sports and leisure, aviation, accident and health sectors. Her career includes positions at three IUA member companies: AxaXL, Travelers and AIG.
James Walker also joins the team as an Underwriting and Claims Technician through the association’s postgraduate course. He recently completed a degree in Economics at Lancaster University and has undertaken a number of work placements in the London insurance market.
Welcoming the new members, IUA chief executive Chris Jones said: “I’m delighted to welcome Pria and James to the IUA team. They will greatly enhance our ability to support members through market groups covering a full range of business categories. Work like this is vital to developing best practice across the entire insurance lifecycle and ensuring London remains a global hub for the industry.”
