Global reinsurance broker Gallagher Re has announced the appointment of Steven Housse as interim head of reinsurance for North America, effective March 12, 2026.
In his new role, Housse will lead the company’s staging strategy in North America and Canada, focusing on personal risk and staging facilities in the property and casualty and specialty sectors.
He has over twenty years’ experience in the London and US markets, with a strong track record in temporary placements, client engagement and market development.
Housse joins Gallagher Re from BMS Group, where he served as managing director and concurrent head of operations. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director and Head of the U.S. Real Estate Chair at Guy Carpenter.
Earlier in his career, he worked as a real estate agent with Marsh, Decus Insurance Brokers Limited and Miller Insurance Services LLP.
