Bermuda-headquartered Everest Group has strengthened its global wholesale and specialty platform, with Michael Cellura and Trevor Gallagher taking on new roles in its temporary and hybrid reinsurance businesses.
Cellura, who joined the reinsurer in 2022, has been appointed head of Everest’s temporary and hybrid reinsurance division. In his new role, Cellura oversees the company’s global temporary and hybrid reinsurance platforms, including underwriting strategy, portfolio management and regional coordination across the business.
Gallagher joins Everest in 2023 and assumes the newly created position of chief operating officer (COO) of interim and hybrid reinsurance. The company explained that he will be responsible for operational execution and platform optimization, supporting the continued scale and performance of the global business.
Cellura will report to Jason Keen, executive vice president and chief executive officer of Everest Global Wholesale and Specialty Insurance, and Gallagher will report to Cellura.
Keane commented on the appointments: “Michael and Trevor are highly respected leaders whose experience and strategic focus reflect the strength of Everest’s leadership team.
“Fashion and hybrid reinsurance are core to our strategy, allowing us to provide flexible underwriting and differentiated solutions for complex risks. Under their leadership, Everest will continue to build a high-performing platform built on disciplined underwriting, strong execution and close collaboration with brokers and clients globally.”
