Corgi Insurance, the AI-native, full-stack insurer, has launched Corgi Re, a reinsurance platform designed to bring underwriting technology, speed, and operational efficiency to the reinsurance market.
With this launch, Corgi is expanding its role in the insurance industry to provide capacity and risk management solutions to insurers themselves.
Corgi Re combines Corgi’s technology-driven market approach, underwriting technology, and lean operating model with institutional expertise and reinsurance industry relationships.
Corgi Re will operate within Corgi’s broader regulated insurance infrastructure, maintaining the company’s emphasis on regulatory compliance, underwriting discipline and responsible risk management.
Jeremy Eisemann, Head of Government Affairs & Deputy General Counsel, Corgi Insurance, commented, “Reinsurance is one of the hardest markets to enter for a reason. Carriers are handing you part of their risk, and those relationships are typically built over decades, not overnight. The foundation of reinsurance is trust. Technology can make the process faster and more efficient, but it doesn’t replace that trust. Corgi Re is being built around both.”
He continued, “There is an enormous opportunity to modernise the way reinsurance is underwritten without losing what makes the market work. The goal isn’t to take the relationships out of reinsurance. It’s to give the people on both sides better tools, better data and a faster way to make informed decisions.”
In related news, last month, Corgi launched an admitted insurance carrier, adding to the range of insurance structures it already operates across its group, including risk retention groups, reinsurers, captives and managing general agencies.
According to the firm, different risks are best suited to different structures, and the launch of admitted carrier Corgi Insurance Company, Inc. expands the range of options the group can deploy for a given account.
Earlier this year, Corgi also raised $108 million for the purpose of growing its startup-focused insurance offerings.
