Global specialist re/insurance broker Consilium has appointed Ben Compton as associate partner of its Cedent Facultative Risk Solutions team in Singapore, which has been granted a brokerage license by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

Compton has more than a decade of experience, most recently as Vice President of Property, Political Violence and Terrorism Settlement at Marsh.

In the past, he held roles in carrier management and insurance company relations at JLT Group. He leads the Singapore office alongside Robert Drysdale, who joined the brokerage earlier this year.

Compton’s expertise complements the existing team in Singapore and the broker’s global Cedent Facultative Risk Solutions arm in London as it aims to expand categories and areas.

The Singapore team provides clients in the Asia Pacific region with a seamless, single access point into the global reinsurance market, including a variety of specialty classes in Asia, the Middle East and London.

It also combines the technical knowledge of its team with the artificial intelligence and technology-driven broker support capabilities of its proprietary ecosystem ATOMX to provide temporary reinsurance solutions.

Robert Drysdale, CEO of Consilium Insurance Brokers, APAC Pte Ltd, commented on the appointment: “With our brokerage license, Singapore will play an important role in our growth strategy across the Asia Pacific region and our team is eager to start creating value for our clients.

“With this in mind, we are delighted to welcome Ben to the team. He brings expertise and expertise that will help expand the range of temporary reinsurance solutions we offer our clients and further strengthen our presence in the region.”
