I don’t know about you, but I love Christmas lights. They’ve just put some up outside my apartment, and even though it’s not even past Bonfire Night yet, it immediately catapulted me into the festive spirit.
In my dream world, I’d spend the day walking through London and looking at all the twinkling Christmas lights.
But then I remember the tourists, and my fantasy is shattered.
Luckily, there’s now a way to see the lights without having to fight off the crowds. From 14 November to 3 January, The London Eye is running Festive Flights, which I’m pleased to announce is as magical as the name suggests.
If you manage to get your hands on a ticket (which I’m sure will be in very high demand) then you’ll be able to take a ride in a festively decorated pod of The London Eye, with a tour narrated by none other than Santa himself.
As you listen to Father Christmas tell you stories about Christmas in London throughout the ages, you’ll look out at the twinkling lights across the city and be able to experience them away from the hustle and bustle.
It goes without saying that an evening booking will be even more magical, as you’ll be able to see those festive lights even more clearly.
And if you want an even more magical experience, The London Eye is also offering a Festive Champagne Flight, which (as you might have guessed) includes a bottle of Moët & Chandon.
The experience will also see you greeted by a gaggle of Christmas elves in an area where you can do crafts, play games, and eat sweet treats.
You’ll then be welcome onboard The London Eye, where you’ll meet Santa himself. It sounds truly dreamy, and would make the perfect festive date night or family day out.
If you’re after a more classic British day out, though, there’s even a Festive Afternoon Tea experience, which will see you showered in an array of seasonal savouries and sweet treats, from turkey, ham and mustard mayonnaise sandwiches, to eggnog cupcakes and red hazelnut choux, and of course, mince pies.
Once you step off the wheel, you’ll be dazzled by the London Eye Daily Light Show, when it brightens up the skyline with festive colours and displays.
Whatever experience you choose, it’ll be a truly delightful experience. But you only have until 3 January to experience it, so you better beat the masses by getting your booking in nice and early.
