CRC Group, an independent wholesale specialty insurance distributor, has appointed Bill Goldstein as director of strategic partnerships, capabilities and capital solutions to lead its newly formed risk solutions division.

Goldstein will manage the company’s latest efforts to develop proprietary capabilities, capital partnerships and alternative risk vehicles.

He will also lead the new unit focused on managing strategic capabilities and capital across the organization, working closely with CRC’s specialty and underwriting businesses to identify new opportunities.

Goldstein joined CRC Group in 2021 and has since helped expand its underwriting capabilities, strengthen its expertise and strengthen its market presence.

The establishment of the new unit reflects China Resources Capital’s continued investment in self-operating capabilities and is consistent with its belief that the traditional boundaries between distribution, underwriting and capital are increasingly converging.

As the specialty insurance market evolves, the company sees a significant opportunity to more closely align these capabilities to create structures and solutions that enhance market access, expand capacity and support long-term growth.

According to CRC, the new unit will help build out its portfolio of sidecars, reciprocal structures, strategic carrier partnerships and innovative capacity solutions and provide a centralized approach to orchestrate and extend these capabilities across the organization.

CRC Group CEO Dave Obenauer commented on the appointment: “Bill has been instrumental in elevating CRC’s position as a leader in the specialty insurance industry. His vision, creativity and deep understanding of the market have helped shape many of our most innovative solutions.

“He will continue to lead the development of next-generation proprietary capabilities and alternative risk solutions, working closely with customers and carrier partners to bring innovative strategies to market.”
