AXA XL, AXA’s property, casualty and special risks division, announced the appointment of Nicoletta George as global chief underwriting officer (CUO) for general liability.
According to AXA XL, in his new role, George will work closely with the company’s global casualty team to support portfolio strategy design and management, market cycle management and the continued development of technology learning and expertise across the underwriting community.
AXA XL said George brings 28 years of industry experience to the role and has been with the company since 2014.
Based in Exton, Pennsylvania, she held a number of senior underwriting leadership positions during her tenure at AXA XL.
Most recently, George served as Global Underwriting Manager, General Liability, from December 2020 to April 2026. Prior to this, AXA XL appointed her Senior Vice President, Excess Casualty Senior Product Line Manager, after more than five years as Vice President, Excess Casualty and Product Line Manager.
Prior to joining AXA XL in 2014, George worked as a product underwriting liability consultant at Zurich North America. Earlier in her career, she spent more than seven years at AIG, where she held underwriting positions responsible for excess casualty national accounts, rising from underwriting specialist to assistant vice president.
Throughout her career, George has developed extensive expertise in casualty underwriting, policy negotiation and contract review, with a particular focus on excess casualty business and national accounts. Her appointment reflects AXA XL’s continued focus on underwriting excellence and leadership development across its global casualty business.
