Reinsurance and capital solutions broker Augment Risk has appointed Brad Livingston as a partner to expand its insurance-linked securities (ILS) product range.
In his new role, Livingston will be based in Nashville and report directly to Thad Hall, the company’s director of ILS solutions.
He has over 18 years of industry experience and has deep expertise in non-indemnity and parametric solutions as well as the integration of alternative capital into traditional reinsurance markets.
Livingston has successfully executed multiple ILS transactions ranging from catastrophe bonds to sidecars, representing nearly $10 billion in capital supporting global natural catastrophe risks.
Most recently, he served as Gallagher Re’s Executive Vice President (EVP), leading the North American non-indemnity reinsurance trading program. Prior to that, Livingston held senior leadership roles at Arbol as head of venture capital solutions, leading the parametric catastrophe reinsurance business.
He began his career with reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter in 2007, providing clients with ILS and catastrophe bond opportunities. In 2013, he moved to Willis Towers Watson Securities as Vice President of ILS, where he was responsible for developing and structuring property catastrophe reinsurance treaty opportunities for institutional investors.
In 2017, Livingston moved to AXIS Capital, where he gradually became head of third-party capital and led its ILS program. In 2019, he returned to WTW and became a director of Willis Re Securities.
In 2021, he joined Apollo Global Management as a Managing Director on the primary structured finance team.
Hall said of the appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Brad to our team. His ability to bridge the gap between reinsurance, capital markets and innovation aligns directly with Augment Risk’s ethos of combining capabilities to build bespoke reinsurance and capital solutions that create measurable value for our clients. Brad’s private property ILS expertise will be invaluable as we expand our offerings in this area.”
