Global insurance and reinsurance brokerage and risk advisor Aon has appointed Nicola Mondone as head of asset-backed finance and securitization, credit solutions.
In his new role, Mondone will support the broker’s financial institution clients in the Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA) region.
He will expand their access to insurance capital, with a focus on securitization of credit portfolios and asset-backed financial transactions, while helping lenders capture growing opportunities at the intersection of insurance and capital markets.
Mondone has more than two decades of experience in the credit risk industry and has a strong track record of structuring and distributing insurance solutions for bank SRT securitization and asset-backed credit risk transfer transactions.
Most recently, he spent six years at Guy Carpenter as senior vice president, credit risk transfer and capital optimization.
Prior to that, Mondone spent more than nine years as the European Enterprise Risk Manager for Mortgage Insurance at Genworth Financial, before serving as Director of Business Development at AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. (AFSI).
Prior to that, he served as European Risk Pricing Manager and Product Development Manager at Genworth Financial – Mortgage Insurance Europe.
Mondone has also worked as a consultant for Free Managers Srl and as an analyst for GE Capital Finance Analyst.
