Artificial intelligence security and research company Anthropic has appointed Monica Shokrai as head of commercial risk and insurance.
In her new role, Shokrai will help strengthen Anthropic’s risk management and insurance posture to support safe, responsible and cutting-edge artificial intelligence research.
She will work with the wider insurance industry to co-create an AI-centric future for insurance, while leveraging AI to drive operational transformation across the industry.
Shokrai joins Anthropic after nearly eight years at Google, where she most recently led Alphabet’s actuarial, analytics and systems functions, supporting the commercial risk and insurance teams and broader Alphabet risk quantification initiatives.
She also serves as the head of business risk and insurance for Google Cloud, where she manages insurance product development and partnerships for the Google Cloud risk protection program.
Prior to that, Shokrai served as global pricing manager and actuary for Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance. Earlier in her career, she worked at WTW as an actuarial risk consultant.
