AM Specialty Insurance Group (ASIG), a global provider of specialty insurance solutions, has appointed Matt Mosher to its Board of Directors.
The appointment is in line with the insurer’s long-term growth plans as the company continues to focus on strengthening its governance framework and combining experienced industry leadership with its underwriting-first approach.
Mosher worked at AM Best for nearly three decades, most recently as president and chief executive officer (CEO).
During his tenure at AM Best, he held several senior leadership positions, including executive vice president and chief operating officer, chief ratings officer and CEO of AM Best America Latina.
In these roles, he oversaw global ratings operations in international markets. As a recognized leader in insurance and credit rating methodologies, Mosher played a central role in developing and advancing the AM Best Capital Adequacy (BCAR) model, a framework for assessing the financial strength of insurance companies.
He has also contributed to the development of rating methodologies by integrating innovation-based assessments to further enhance the analytical rigor of the rating process. Mosher currently holds several advisory and board positions in the insurance industry.
Shevawn Barder, Group CEO of AM Specialty Insurance Group, commented: “Matt’s appointment to our Board represents a significant addition to the Group.
“With his industry background and knowledge of carrier performance and rigorous underwriting, Matt will play an important role in supporting our long-term strategy.”
