Allianz Risk Transfer AG (ART AG) has moved its headquarters from Liechtenstein to Switzerland with approval from relevant authorities such as the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority (FMA) and the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).
The company announced its decision to relocate about nine months ago, with the relocation taking effect on July 1, 2026.
In addition to ART AG’s former headquarters in Schaan, Liechtenstein, it has two branches: Zurich/Walliselen, Switzerland, and Bermuda.
The company stated that the Liechtenstein branch will no longer operate after the move; the ART AG branch with its registered office in Zurich/Walliselen will continue to operate seamlessly as ART AG’s new headquarters.
The Bermuda branch will also remain, and ART AG will be supervised by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) in the future.
The move is aimed at streamlining the company’s operations in Europe, as Switzerland is an important international center for complex insurance and reinsurance business. ART AG also aims to simplify its corporate structure, thereby reducing management complexity and increasing operational efficiency.
Furthermore, the move brings the company closer to its customers in Switzerland and its international business network. At the same time, ART AG will leverage the existing Allianz Commercial platform in the European Economic Area (EEA) established within Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE to serve European customers outside of Switzerland.
Day-to-day operations of ART AG and its subsidiaries will continue without interruption. For ART AG’s corporate clients and brokers, there will be no practical changes to its market contacts, services, terms and conditions of re/insurance contracts or claims handling.
For now, the company insists the move will have no impact on ART AG’s current rating (AA- from Standard & Poor’s).
