Global reinsurance broker WTW has announced the appointment of Li Haibin as director and data scientist for its North American Pricing, Products, Claims and Underwriting (PPCU) consulting team.
In his new role, Li will be responsible for supporting PPCU clients and prospects by creating and delivering integrated consulting and technology solutions. He will focus on leveraging predictive modeling, advanced analytics and artificial intelligence (AI).
The executive will work closely with insurance companies on pricing, underwriting, claims and portfolio management to design and implement analytical frameworks, enhance data capabilities and help embed more effective decision-making across the organization.
Li will report to WTW Senior Director Ben Williams, who commented: “Haibin brings a powerful combination of insurance experience and data science technical depth.
“His ability to translate complex analytics into practical applications will be extremely valuable as we continue to help clients enhance performance and navigate evolving markets.”
Lee brings extensive experience in academia and insurance. His academic career spanned 15 years and included appointments at Rutgers University, Princeton University, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
He then spent 12 years in the insurance industry in data analysis roles at major insurance companies such as Everest, The Hartford and Chubb.
Li joins the PPCU Consulting NA team at a time when WTW’s Insurance Consulting Technology (ICT) business is expanding its digital capabilities.
The division, which has more than 1,700 colleagues across 35 markets, is prioritizing the integration of generative and agent-based AI.
By leveraging these next-generation technologies, WTW aims to reduce process friction and deliver faster, smarter results to insurers around the world.
