All signs point to next year’s Glastonbury being one for the music history books.
Not only will 2027 mark a return for the festival after taking a “fallow year” this summer, tickets also sold out in a record 42 minutes when they were released at the beginning of October.
This indicates that fans are more excited than ever for Worthy Farm to reopen its doors. All that remains now is for organisers to actually announce who we can expect to see on the Pyramid Stage this coming June.
Considering Glastonbury last took place in the summer of 2025, there’s been plenty of time for the rumour mill to throw out some names and music fans to speculate.
Here, we’ve rounded up nine of the acts who’ve all been tipped to be taking to the stage at next year’s event…
Sam Fender
Of all the names we’ve included in our round-up, Sam Fender seems the most likely.
After a 2026 that saw him winning two Brit Awards and shattering the record for longest-running number one single, fresh from scooping the coveted Mercury Prize last year, the Mail On Sunday reported in October that the People Watching singer had been booked to headline on the Pyramid Stage.
Sam has previously performed at Glastonbury once before, warming up the stage for headliner Billie Eilish in 2022, off the back of his album Seventeen Going Under.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift’s Glastonbury debut feels long overdue at this point.
In fact, the Grammy winner was first booked to headline the festival back in 2020, alongside Kendrick Lamar and Sir Paul McCartney, but this was famously the year that Glastonbury couldn’t go ahead due to the Covid pandemic.
Although Kendrick and Sir Paul have both headlined in subsequent years, Taylor is still to make an appearance at Worthy Farm – but it looks like this could be her year.
During a radio interview in August, Glasto organiser Emily Eavis – who has made no secret of her Swiftie status – confirmed that next year’s headliners had been booked, and when Taylor was named as a suggestion, she quickly moved the subject along.
Harry Styles
Harry Styles is another huge artist who is yet to perform at Glastonbury.
Fans have grown suspicious that this could change in 2027, though, after a Glasto-shaped hole was spotted in the former One Direction star’s tour schedule for next year.
After the success of his Together Together shows earlier this year, Harry unveiled a string of stadium shows planned for next summer, including three UK dates.
While he’s in town, surely he could pop across to Worthy Farm too, right…?
Fontaines DC
Fontaines DC’s latest album was one of the most anticipated musical releases of 2026, and now that it’s with us, many are speculating whether the Irish five-piece could celebrate the occasion with a spot at the top of next year’s Glastonbury bill.
When they headlined the Park Stage in 2024, it was considered by many to be a highlight of that year’s festival, so a jump to the Pyramid Stage definitely seems like a possibility.
Excitingly, like many of the other acts on our round-up, they have some major festival shows planned for the summer of 2027, but are notably free the weekend of Glastonbury.
Raye
Glastonbury has been a major part of Raye’s rise to household name status, and she’s already among the rumoured names on eFestivals’ page.
Following a hugely successful 2026 arena tour, the Where Is My Husband! singer’s summer schedule for next year is already starting to fill up with festival dates.
Raye’s year began with her number one single, and went on to include two sold-out hometown shows at London’s O2 and a chart-topping album – a Glasto headlining set just feels inevitable at this point, so it might as well be next year,
Radiohead
Once hailed by the BBC as “the greatest Glasto band ever”, it’s now been a decade since Radiohead last released music.
However, in recent years, they have made a return to live performing, with a string of European arena shows in 2025.
Next year, the band are planning to hit the road again, this time in Japan and Australia, with a string of dates planned for May and June. Interestingly, the last of these is scheduled for 13 June, just over a week before Glastonbury reopens its doors – which certainly hasn’t escaped the attention of fans hoping to see them closing the Pyramid Stage for the fourth time.
Muse
Like Radiohead, Muse have also headlined Glastonbury three times – most recently in 2016, where they made history as the only act to have performed on the Pyramid Stage on all three nights of the festival.
The group released their 10th album The Wow! Signal over the summer, earning critical acclaim and topping the albums chart here in the UK, with a crop of European festival shows to promote it booked for June and July 2027.
Curiously, this doesn’t include any UK festivals, although only time will tell whether that remains the case for long…
Billie Eilish
Rumours of Billie Eilish putting in an appearance at Glastonbury have slowly been spreading across social media platforms including Reddit and TikTok.
Both Billie and her brother Finneas have confirmed that they’re putting the finishing touches on the chart-topping star’s next album, which is confirmed for release in early 2027.
Whether or not it’s a little too close to her 2022 headlining slot for Billie to get Pyramid stage top billing for a second time remain to be seen, but that certainly hasn’t stopped the Bad Guy singer’s fans from speculating anyway.
Rihanna
Yeah, alright, we’re pretty much setting ourselves up for a fall here, but we can dream, right?
It’s now been 10 years since Rihanna last toured, but in that time, she has still managed to deliver some stand-out live performances, most notably at the Super Bowl Halftime Show and the Oscars.
Outlets like the BBC, Time Out and NME have continued to list Rihanna as a possible Pyramid Stage contender for 2027, and while it does seem unlikely as long as she’s still in no mood to release that mythical ninth album, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of wishful thinking, is there?
Tame Impala
While not quite a household name in the same way as others we’ve included, Tame Impala – helmed by Kevin Parker – has a hugely loyal following, and are already set to tour Europe in June and July of 2027.
Tame Impala’s headlining slot on The Other Stage in 2019 is still heralded as one of the best sets in modern Glasto history, meaning the Pyramid Stage could be beckoning.
Madonna
Rumours about Madonna finally putting in an appearance have been circulating for decades at this point, but they’ve never come to anything yet.
In the lead-up to the Queen of Pop’s new album Confessions II, she sparked rumours that her Worthy Farm set could be coming, when she teased to Graham Norton she had “something big” planned for the summer of 2027 in the UK.
While Emily Eavis is usually one to keep her cards close to her chest, she did confirm in August that she had three headliners booked – and they were “definitely not Madonna”.
Maybe 2028 will finally be the year, instead…
