Few could deny that the casting team on The Celebrity Traitors pulled it out of the bag yet again with season two.
And with a third run already confirmed for 2027, it seems producers are already shooting for the moon with the next star-studded trip to the castle.

During a recent interview with Radio Times, Stephen Lambert – the owner of production company Studio Lambert – had one name in mind when asked about his ideal cast for next year’s run.
“Tom Cruise, maybe,” he quipped.
On a more realistic note, Stephen also claimed that he and his colleagues “would like to have a big sports star” in 2027, after the sporting world was one resource that went noticeably untapped for this year’s series.
However, Stephen pointed out that booking athletes is harder than it might seem, as if “they are an active” sportsperson, they “have commitments” that mean they can’t block off the required time for Celebrity Traitors.
Before season one got underway, Stephen joked that former PM Liz Truss would be his ideal booking.
“She’d be great,” he claimed in 2024. “It’s very important on that show to be able to tell the truth, and also to not tell the truth. And you know, she would be challenged, possibly.”
When casting for season three does get underway properly, the team will be able to take their pick of big names, with two A-listers having already volunteered for the gig.
“Casting was simple,” he told Radio Times of this year’s season. “We didn’t need to tempt people on to the show with the promise of being alongside a huge star.”
He also suggested that “the fact that so many famous people did it last year meant they all wanted to do it this year”.
The Celebrity Traitors continues on Friday night at 8pm on BBC One.
