Verdant Rock Limited, a Bermuda Monetary Authority-regulated Class 3B insurance-company/" style="color:#c0392b;font-weight:700;text-decoration:underline;" class="hta-topic-link">insurance company, has received an A (low) Financial Strength Rating and an A (low) Issuer Rating from global credit rating agency, Morningstar DBRS.
The rating complements the BBB+ Long-Term Insurer Financial Strength Rating with a Stable Outlook from Fitch Ratings, assigned on June 12, 2026, establishing two independent, investment-grade benchmarks for the company’s financial guarantees.
Morningstar DBRS’ assessment highlights Verdant Rock’s financial strength and its capacity to meet policyholder obligations as an investment-grade financial guarantor for Emerging Markets credit.
It also reflects the company’s strong projected earnings ability, robust risk profile, sound liquidity, and good capitalization.
Designed for beneficiaries requiring investment-grade mandates, guarantees issued by Verdant Rock offer robust security supported by dual-agency validation.
Financial institutions and insurers holding paper guaranteed by Verdant Rock can draw upon ratings from both Morningstar DBRS and Fitch Ratings as independent verification of its investment-grade standing.
The addition of the Morningstar DBRS A (low) Financial Strength Rating provides secondary external confirmation, further bolstering the security framework of every guarantee issued by the firm.
Tolga Uzuner, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Verdant Rock Limited, said: “Receiving an A (low) Financial Strength Rating from Morningstar DBRS six months after our BMA license is a result we are proud of. Morningstar DBRS assessed our projected earnings ability, risk profile, liquidity, and capitalisation, and reached a conclusion consistent with what we have been telling counterparties since we launched: that Verdant Rock is built on sound structural foundations.
“We now hold Financial Strength Ratings from two internationally recognized agencies. For any counterparty that requires dual-agency confirmation before it can accept a financial guarantee, that question is answered.”
The rating announcement comes after Verdant Rock’s execution of a 30% quota share reinsurance treaty backed by a global panel of reinsurers averaging A+ financial strength rating from AM Best and S&P.
The treaty directly supports Verdant Rock’s portfolio of irrevocable, unconditional and on-demand financial guarantees for private corporate, structured and project finance risks in emerging markets, diversifying its risk distribution and expanding balance sheet scalability.
