United Insurance Brokers (UIB), an international independent insurance and reinsurance brokerage, has appointed Kevin Webb as director of its binder division, reinforcing the company’s focus on expanding its transportation and U.S. binder capabilities.
Webb joins UIB with more than 25 years of insurance industry experience, particularly in the North American market and commercial transportation risks. He joins the company from Burns and Wilcox Global Solutions.
He previously worked at Bowood Insurance Brokers and Howden Insurance Brokers, where he gained extensive experience in generating new business, maintaining client relationships and building bespoke insurance solutions across complex and diverse investment portfolios.
In his new role, Weber will be responsible for developing a dedicated U.S.-focused Binder team with a focus on transportation-related businesses, UIB said.
Webb commented: “I am looking forward to the next stage of my career at UIB and am excited to begin building a Binder team that is well regarded within the transport community. A key priority will be working towards establishing UIB London as an approved Lloyd’s underwriter and further developing its US Binder proposal.”
Shaun Barrington, CEO of UIB, added: “We are delighted to welcome Kevin to UIB. His extensive experience in the North American market and proven track record in transportation risks make him an excellent addition to our business. Kevin’s appointment reflects our commitment to growing our binding machine capabilities and expanding our presence in key markets. We look forward to supporting him as he builds and leads a high-quality US-focused binding machine team.”
UIB noted that the appointment underlines its continued investment in the binder business and its wider international growth strategy in key markets.
