Since her appearances on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Plastique Tiara has gained one of the biggest social media followings of any queen on the planet (not to mention more followers than any other alum from the show).

This has largely been down to her jaw-dropping costumes and impeccable makeup abilities – and over the last year, she’s been showing off her skills by transforming some of the franchise’s most recognisable faces, including Bianca Del Rio, Katya and Kim Chi.

More recently, though, she’s been casting an even wider net, and welcoming more famous faces into her Plastique’s Beauty Bar makeup chair, including British Olympian Tom Daley.

On Sunday, Plastique showed off the results of Tom’s drag transformation – with the gold medallist looking completely unrecognisable by the end of the clip.

At the top of the video, the pro diver admitted that he’d “always wanted” to get into drag, with Plastique’s transformation marking “genuinely my first time” trying it out.

To mark the occasion, the former Celebrity Traitors star – who dubbed himself Lady Go-diver – even provided his own outfit, which he crocheted specially.

“The amount of time I had to do this, there was no way I thought I was going to be able to make it,” he confessed, with Plastique comparing it to a “mini sewing challenge on Drag Race”.

“What on earth – that is crazy!” Tom enthused after seeing himself in drag for the first time. “I’m, like, looking in the mirror and that looks nothing like me.”

Since the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he added a silver medal to his already existing collection of a gold and three bronzes, Tom announced he was retiring from professional diving, and relocating to LA with his husband, Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black, and their two sons.

Plastique, meanwhile, first appeared on Drag Race in 2019, before returning to the franchise for its ninth All Stars run in 2024, where she made it to joint fourth place.
