The Hartford, a US insurance and financial services provider, has announced a series of senior appointments within its Global Specialty business unit, covering wholesale casualty, financial lines, professional liability and cyber insurance.

Charles Chin will take over as Head of Wholesale Casualty for Navigators, a brand of The Hartford, while Anthony Dolce has been appointed Head of Financial Lines, US and Global Practice.

The appointments follow the departures of Kyle Sternadori and James Rhyner, whom Chin and Dolce respectively replace. The Hartford confirmed that Chin will report to Lynanne St. Denis, the company’s Head of Wholesale Property and Casualty for Navigators. Dolce will report to Rick Ciullo, The Hartford’s Head of US Retail.

In his new position, Chin will oversee the company’s casualty strategy across primary and excess casualty insurance. His role will include underwriting standards, portfolio oversight and improving coordination in the service provided to brokers and customers.

Chin has spent seven years with The Hartford, contributing to efforts to bring its casualty operations together. The company highlighted his underwriting knowledge, experience in developing teams and talent, and established relationships with brokers as relevant strengths for the role.

Dolce’s appointment will see him lead underwriting specialists responsible for professional, management, financial and executive liability products. His portfolio will also include cyber insurance and technology errors and omissions (E&O) cover. He will focus on developing customer relationships and supporting long-term business growth.

Dolce previously held the position of Head of Professional Liability, Cyber and Technology E&O at The Hartford. With more than 20 years of experience in the insurance sector, he has also established a profile in discussions around cyber risk, emerging liability exposures and changes in the cyber insurance market, according to the company.

Matthew Magner has also been appointed Head of Cyber and Tech E&O. The Hartford said Magner will expand his existing leadership responsibilities within its cyber business and take on additional oversight of technology E&O. He will report to Kinsella as part of the revised leadership structure.
