Global reinsurer Swiss Re has appointed Hazel Etherington as head of life and health underwriting for Hong Kong and Taiwan and global high net worth individuals.
Etherington has nearly 40 years of experience in the life and health insurance industry, holding leadership roles in underwriting, operations, claims, distribution and business transformation across multiple international markets.
In her new role, she will support the growth and development of Swiss Re and its clients’ high net worth business as well as wider underwriting development initiatives.
Etherington returned to Swiss Re after working at Swiss Re for more than two decades from 1988 to 2010.
Most recently, she served as Director of Retail Operations and Underwriting for Just Group.
Prior to that, Etherington served as president of Transamerica Life Bermuda and also held roles at AIA and Now Health International.
