Global reinsurer Swiss Re has appointed Rafael Schneider as head of markets for the Mediterranean and Middle East, effective July 1, 2026, and expanded Thomas Rauber’s responsibilities to include Switzerland and the Netherlands, while Mira Kiridzic-Bügler’s responsibilities will include the Nordics and CIS countries, effective August 1, 2026.

These appointments follow Anna Ziswiler’s move to Asia.

Currently, Schneider serves as Head of German Market from 2022, leading the reinsurer’s property and casualty business in the German market.

In the past, he has held senior roles in business development, regional management for Southern Africa and leadership of Swiss Re’s global MGA and client review teams.

He will be succeeded in this position by Kristina Franke, also effective July 1, 2026. Frank has been head of markets for Nordics, the Netherlands and the CIS since 2022, leading Swiss Re’s property and casualty business in these markets, having previously held actuarial product development roles at Generali and senior underwriting and solutions roles at Swiss Re.

Rauber will continue to be responsible for global key account management, while Mira Kiridzic-Bügler will continue to be responsible for Austria, Central and Eastern Europe.

Rauber has been global key account manager for Swiss Re’s global division since 2020, overseeing relationships with two Germany-based global clients, and previously held underwriting and account management leadership roles in Southeast Asia and earlier as a property treaty underwriter in Zurich.

Kiridzic-Bügler has served as Market Head for Austria, Central and Eastern Europe since October 2020, leading Swiss Re’s property and casualty business in the region. Since joining Swiss Re in 2002, his career has spanned strategic leadership positions in underwriting, strategy and interim, human resources and client markets.
