Aon, a major global professional services and advisory firm, has announced the appointment of industry veteran Mike Reid as CEO of Facultative Reinsurance EMEA, effective July 1, 2026.
Based in London, the executive will report to EMEA CEO and Reinsurance International chairman Tomas Novotny and Facultative Reinsurance global CEO Nick Fraccalvieri.
Reid succeeds Fraccalvieri, who transitioned into a global leadership role in March after three years leading the EMEA faculty.
As a key member of the global leadership team, the executive will build on this solid foundation to continue delivering solutions that help clients make better capital decisions.
Novotny said: “We place a strong emphasis on recruiting talent to continue to differentiate Aon in the market, drive our business and deliver client value. Mike is a great example of this approach and we are delighted to have him lead our EMEA temporary reinsurance team.”
Reid has almost three decades of experience in the insurance industry and prior to joining Aon he was head of UK property and casualty at Sompo.
Throughout his career he has also led underwriting teams and portfolios in UK commercial insurance and international wholesale and specialty lines.
