Insurance and reinsurance solutions provider Sompo has appointed Martyn Benson as chief operating officer of its UK business as the company continues to develop its platform and capitalize on the opportunities arising from Sompo’s integration with Aspen.
Benson has extensive experience in financial services consulting, operational improvement and executive leadership, with 10 years focusing on consulting and operational excellence and 17 years in senior operational roles across the UK, EMEA and Asia Pacific markets.
Prior to joining Sompo, he served as chief operating officer of international insurance for Bermuda airline Everest.
In his new role, Sompo said Benson will focus on improving operational performance, supporting business growth and helping to advance the company’s UK strategy and proposition.
The appointment marks Sompo’s continued investment in its UK business and leadership following the integration of Sompo and Aspen.
