Simon Hunt to serve as HDI’s interim CEO, Ger Twomey named interim CFO

HDI Global has appointed its current HDI Global UK and Ireland chief financial officer (CFO) Simon Hunt as interim chief executive, while Ger Twomey will serve as interim chief financial officer.

Both appointments will be effective on February 1, 2026 and are subject to regulatory approval. Stephanie Ogden, CEO of HDI Global UK and Ireland, leaves the company on 31 January 2026 to pursue new opportunities outside of HDI Global.

The company thanks Stephanie for her outstanding contribution in shaping the UK and Ireland business and her leadership team, ensuring broker partners and clients remain at the heart of a cohesive business proposition. The company wishes her all the best for the future.

Hunt joined HDI Global in 2019 with extensive financial expertise and proven leadership in the insurance business.

At the company, he has worked across the corporate and professional sectors and ensured continuity as Managing Director during Stephanie Ogden’s maternity leave. In his new role, Ger Twomey will be responsible for finance and risk.

David Hullin, member of HDI’s Global Executive Committee, commented: “Steph has made a significant contribution to our UK and Ireland business, successfully delivering our local strategy and strengthening our market position and customer relationships. We wish her all the best for the future.”

“We are pleased to appoint Simon Hunt as interim chief executive to ensure continuity and maintain our strategic focus on clients and brokerage partners. We have also appointed Ger Twomey as interim chief financial officer, an experienced leader with a strong track record in finance and risk.”
