Sam Fender has voiced his dissatisfaction over the ticket prices for his upcoming UK tour.
Last week, it was announced that the chart-topping singer would be hitting the road for a string of stadium shows in 2027, but when prices for the tour were made public, he admitted he was “not happy”.
“They’re getting changed,” he assured his fans on Instagram, claiming they’d been “inflated well more than I’d had in mind”.
He added that his shows’ standing section would not be “split” depending on how much tickets cost, claiming this was something he “had no idea” was happening until it was announced.
“I have no idea how this was normalised in gigs. It’s bollocks and it won’t be happening on this tour,” Sam wrote.
The Brit Award winner later confirmed he’d managed to “get ‘front standing’ tickets removed from the UK stadium tour”, assuring his followers that “whoever buys a standing ticket gets as much chance as anyone to be at the front”.
“No more 120 quid standing tickets either,” he added. “Costs are astronomical compared to two years ago, I can’t control the venue and ticketing fees, that’s a sad reality of today’s industry.”
He then insisted: “This is gonna be the biggest and best show we’ve ever put on. Can’t wait to see everyone on the road next summer!”
Sam clarified that tickets would be priced between £55 and £95 for his next shows, excluding fees added on by venues and ticket-selling companies, with £1 from each sale going towards Live Trust, who he praised for “supporting the grassroots music ecosystem in the UK”.
Last year, Sam made a £25,000 donation to a similar organisation, the Music Venue Trust (MVT), giving them his entire Mercury Prize winnings.
News of Sam’s 2027 tour comes amid rumours that he will be one of next year’s Glastonbury headliners.
