RGA names Senan O’Loughlin as EVP, Head of the Americas

American Reinsurance Group Inc., a global life and health reinsurer, announced the appointment of Senan O’Loughlin as executive vice president and head of the Americas, effective June 22.

As part of his new responsibilities, O’Loughlin will also become a member of the RGA’s Executive Committee. He will be responsible for the company’s Americas operations, overseeing efforts to support growth, strengthen its position in the market and deliver strong financial results across the region.

His responsibilities include responsibility for regional strategy and day-to-day operations, covering areas such as capital allocation, customer engagement and new product and solution development. He will report to Ron Herrmann, RGA’s chief commercial officer and executive vice president, Americas and EMEA.

The company noted that O’Loughlin joined RGA in 2021 and most recently served as executive vice president and head of U.S. personal markets. RGA highlighted his extensive industry background, with over 30 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector in international markets.

O’Loughlin is a member of the Institute of Actuaries in the UK and the Institute of Actuaries in Ireland. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University College Dublin’s Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

“Senan is a well-respected leader with deep industry expertise and a proven track record,” Herman added. “Since joining RGA, he has been instrumental in advancing our U.S. individual market business and strengthening our client relationships. We believe Senan’s leadership, strategic vision and global perspective will continue to drive growth and innovation across the Americas.”
