Atrium, a specialty insurer at Lloyd’s, has announced the appointment of London Market veteran John Pilkington as Chief Capital Officer (CCO).
This newly created role, Atrium highlighted, will be key in shaping the company’s capital strategy to support the delivery of its five-year transformation agenda.
In his new position, Pilkington will be responsible for sourcing external capital and managing the structuring of complex capital solutions to support the company’s long-term growth and strategic success.
The executive brings 38 years of experience to Atrium, joining the company from Ascot, where he served as Executive Underwriter, Syndicate 1414.
Prior to this, he worked as Active Underwriter, at Barbican Syndicate 1955 (now Arch) as well as QBE.
As Atrium advances its ambitious five-year strategy, the business has already attracted significant underwriting capital for Syndicate 2026, which launched at 1/1, with plans to broaden its portfolio through new lines of business.
John Fowle, CEO, Atrium, commented: “John’s extensive experience across the global insurance and reinsurance market makes him an outstanding addition to our leadership team.
“He brings a strong track record of optimising capital, driving strategic value and delivering results at scale. His expertise will enhance our capabilities and support the continued execution of Atrium’s 5-year strategy.”
