Professional managing general agency (MGA) Optio Group announces the acquisition of AGS Forsikring AS (AGS).

Founded in 2008 by Lars-Petter Myklebost and headquartered in Oslo, AGS provides insurance solutions and claims processing in the energy, sports and fine arts sectors. MGA manages individual accident claims for the Scandinavian sports federations through proprietary IT systems, provides tailor-made solutions to cultural institutions across Scandinavia and has established a presence in global energy markets through Lloyd’s-backed onshore and offshore adhesives.

Following the acquisition of Norway’s MGA S Insurance AS in April 2025, the acquisition of AGS strengthens Optio’s presence in Scandinavia and brings highly complementary areas of expertise to the company.

Deepak Soni, CEO of Optio Group, said: “AGS is an excellent addition to the Optio Group and another step in our continued international expansion. We are delighted to welcome Lars-Petter and his team. They have built a strong business on the back of proprietary technology and strong partnerships, with high renewal rates and a reputation for quality service in the region and among their global customers. AGS’s balanced product portfolio will broaden Optio’s horizons and we look forward to working with the team.”

Myklebost added: “Joining Optio represents a huge opportunity for AGS and we are keen to combine their expertise and business services with our own specialist products. Optio’s dynamic culture aligns closely with our own approach and that of S Insurance (an Optio company) and I very much look forward to co-creating solutions for our clients’ unique challenges and objectives and working directly with teams in Scandinavia and the wider Optio Group.”
