MS Amlin’s insurance service profit rises £92m in 2025

MS Amlin, a global reinsurance company owned by MS&AD Holdings, reported an insurance services profit of £307 million in FY25, a year-on-year increase of £92 million from £215 million in FY24.

The reinsurer reported profit growth of 79.9%, or £119 million, to £268 million in 2025, compared with £149 million in 2024.

Meanwhile, net written premiums increased by 26.9%, or £399 million, to £1.9 billion, compared with £1.5 billion in 2024.

Net premium income increased by 13.3%, or £209 million, to £1.8 billion, compared with £1.6 billion in 2024.

Despite costly circumstances such as the Los Angeles wildfires, MS Amlin’s consolidated operating ratio improved to 83% in 2025 from 86.2% in 2024, an improvement of 3.2 percentage points. In 2025, the company’s expense ratio will improve by 0.3 percentage points from 37.3% in 2024 to 37%.

The profit forecast from April to March released by the reinsurance company at the same time emphasized that insurance revenue is expected to remain basically stable compared with fiscal 2025 (a year-on-year increase of 0.6%).
