She may not have ended up part of The Gentlemen’s cast for season three, but Meghan Markle has a very different TV role lined up.
Earlier this year, the Duchess of Sussex made a guest appearance on the Australian version of MasterChef, where she helped the show’s regular on-screen team judge Finals Week.
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, it was announced that Meghan will return to the Down Under franchise as one of the new hosts of Australia’s Junior MasterChef, where she’ll appear alongside current judge Poh Ling Yeow.
Meghan enthused: “I had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef this past April, so when they approached me to come back and work with this young group of talent, it was an easy yes.”
She added: “I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see what they cook up.”
In her own statement, Poh Ling Yeow said: “I had a lovely time filming with Meghan earlier this year, and being reunited will be a real treat.”
Meghan initially rose to fame as an actor, most notably in the TV show Suits, but stepped away from the industry ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.
Since then, she has lent her voice to the Disney+ nature documentary Elephant, fronted the poorly-received lifestyle series With Love, Meghan for Netflix and is set to make a cameo as herself in the upcoming comedy Close Personal Friends, which features Oscar winner Brie Larson.
Over the summer, it was claimed in the tabloid press that she was “in talks” about a role in the forthcoming third iteration of The Gentlemen, though there have since been conflicting reports about the validity of these rumours.
Last week, Netflix unveiled a list of new additions to the cast, which notably did not include Meghan.
