UK insurance services provider Jensten Group has restructured its executive leadership team and business into two clearly defined trading divisions: Brokerage and Product & Distribution.
The insurer has created two new executive positions, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Broking, which will be held by Gareth Birch, and Chief Executive Officer Product & Distribution, which will be filled soon.
The move is part of the insurer’s long-term growth strategy to support the delivery of its five-year business plan.
The brokerage division will include regional brokerage, specialist lines and London markets as well as the Jensten Network.
In his new role, Birch will report directly to group chief executive Robert Organ and will lead the division with a focus on driving sustainable growth, positive client outcomes, process optimization and attracting talent to the group’s brokerage business.
Subject to regulatory approval, Birch will assume his new role effective May 1, 2026. He has over twenty years’ experience in insurance broking, most recently as Managing Director UK Retail SME and Personal Lines at Gallagher.
Meanwhile, the new product and distribution division will include Jensten’s planning and affinity businesses as well as MGA, Jensten Underwriting.
The combined businesses will be led by the soon-to-be-appointed chief executive officer of product and distribution, a move designed to enhance coordination between product development, underwriting capabilities and distribution strategy.
Organ commented: “These changes reflect our ambition and our commitment to establishing a leadership structure that supports continued growth, accountability and focus. Gareth brings outstanding experience and insight and I am delighted to welcome him to Jensten.”
Birch added: “After successfully building over the past five years, Jensten is at a very exciting time in its development. With the support of Bain and the newly formed group board, now is an excellent time to join; I’m delighted to be joining Rob and the team and can’t wait to get started.”
Jensten’s governance and strategic capabilities follow the recent appointments of David McMillan and Andy Homer as non-executive directors.
