Global reinsurer Munich Re has announced the promotion of James Sanzone to Vice President and Head of Ocean Freight, Munich Re North America (MRS-NA).
In his new role, Sanzone will continue to lead the development of MRS-NA’s ocean freight products and the expansion strategy for the team’s proven ocean freight product line capabilities.
The executive has been with Munich Re for five years, joining the company in 2021 as an associate underwriter.
He was later appointed Marine Cargo Underwriter, a position he held for two years before assuming his most recent position, Assistant Vice President, Ocean Marine Division.
Sanzo’s promotion is one of the latest moves by Munich Re. In early April, the reinsurer announced the appointment of Andreas Moser as global head of credit, guarantee and political risk reinsurance.
Moser joined the company in 2004 and joined the financial risk department in 2021. During his tenure, he was credited with helping develop new digital business models.
