Aki Hussain, Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of global insurer Hiscox, has joined the Steering Committee of the Insurance Development Forum, a public-private partnership between the insurance industry, the UN, and the World Bank to protect vulnerable countries against climate disasters.
As a respected insurance leader, Hussain brings extensive executive leadership experience in the global insurance industry and a strong track record across the financial services, telecoms and media sectors.
Hiscox is a long-standing member organisation of the IDF. Under Hussain’s leadership, the organisation has demonstrated a strong commitment to the IDF goals, actively participating in the Sovereign & Humanitarian Solutions Working Group and support for broader IDF thought leadership and advocacy efforts.
Prior to his close to five-year tenure as Group CEO of Hiscox, Hussain served as its Chief Financial Officer for five years.
He was also part of Prudential UK & Europe, where he was Chief Financial Officer for three years, following four years as Business Representative UK & Europe.
His career also includes senior finance roles at Lloyds Banking Group and NTL, now Virgin Media.
Additionally, he sits on the Board of Visa Europe as a Non-executive Director and is a Chartered Accountant, having trained with KPMG.
