At this point, it’s simply a fact of human nature: every New Year we swear we’re going to be better – only to end up recycling the exact same habits.
It’s fair enough, the Christmas rush always gets in the way of any good intentions we actually had. Not least because we scoff our faces with every kind of carbohydrate and alcohol in sight, and then swear to start exercising in the bleakest time of the year; life doesn’t work like that.
That’s why this year I’m calling for a change to your general routine: what if you started thinking about the New Year now?
Sure, it’s not even Christmas yet, but that gives you plenty of time to get prepared for the incoming January.
Healf is on my same wavelength, because it each year it produces a sell out Advent calendar that’s designed to support better health in the New Year.
Based around Healf’s four pillars of sleep, eat, move, and sleep, the 24-day calendar will set you up for success come January 2027.
Although it comes in at just £349, it’s actually worth £1,005, so you’re saving nearly £700 on the 26 best health products out there.
Trust me, because Healf has a strict curation policy with high standards for quality, efficacy and ingredients. And that’s just for its normal shopping experience; it ramps that up come time to curate its Advent calendar.
As a gal who loves supplements, skincare, and health foods, I had appropriately high standards, so I was excited when the opportunity came to review it (hopefully) well ahead of it selling out.
My honest review of the Healf Advent calendar
Immediately, the shiny exterior of the Advent calendar made me excited for what was within.
Because the calendar promised to focus on four pillars of health, I expected it to be divided into four sections, but instead there were 24 boxes waiting for me when I opened it, which I much preferred.
Each day was more exciting than the last. If you’re a health nut (figuratively, not literally, I hope) you likely will have heard of many of the brands in this Advent calendar.
And if not, you’ll be thrilled to get to know them, because there’s everything from top hydration brands (H2 Tab and LMNT) to lust-worthy skincare brands (Dr Barbara Sturm and Salt and Stone) in there.
Eight of the included brands are exclusive to the UK in this calendar, so you’ll want to get your hands on it simply for that.
But if you’re not bothered about that, there are products in here for everyone, whether you’re worried about your nutrition, skin, or sleep in 2027.
I was excited to discover some new ‘healthy’ snacks, including two chocolate-covered smashed date bars from Kaicao, and three protein bars from Prima.
Then there are all the usual suspects for better sleep, such as magnesium in a powder and balm form from Thorne and Fierce Nature respectfully, along with Ashwagandha from Momentous. Considering my sleep always suffers in winter, I know I’ll be grateful for those as we get further into cosy season.
Even though I am big on health, I find the wellness world overwhelming, so the idea that the calendar offers some top supplements was a big plus for me.
For example, I’d never heard of Omre’s NR + Resveratrol or NAD+ Longevity Patches from What’s That Patch (both focused around long-term energy and ageing), which I probably wouldn’t have picked it up if left to my own devices.
Now that I have them, though, I’m keen to see whether they can make a difference to my overall wellbeing, and what will stick.
Most excitingly, I was surprised to come across some skincare I’ve been eyeing up from the likes of Dr Barbara Sturm, whose Hyaluronic Acid Serum features, as well as Agent Nateur’s 3-Step Routine.
And, look, I’m a lesbian, so obviously when I opened Heuretic’s Nosferatu perfume I had to gasp.
My girlfriend and I have been wanting to try it forever but our curiosity couldn’t justify the cost of a full bottle, so we really ate up the ritual of spraying it for the first time. Naturally, we were so jazzed to find out it really smells like a damp vamp cave (somehow in the best way!).
Considering the longevity movement is basically a repackaging of the vampire craze, it weirdly makes total sense that’s in there (anyway, thanks for coming to my TED Talk).
It’s also an ode to just how varied this Advent calendar is: I never would’ve thought I’d get a Gel Moisturiser in the same calendar as Manuka Honey and Amino Capsules, but Healf has made that happen.
Huge props have to go to the fact the brand has made the calendar gender-neutral, which means it would be a great early Christmas gift for literally any health fanatic you know – if not yourself.
If you’re willing to get a bit experimental with your health in the New Year to find what feels good, or simply have been itching to try out some zeitgeisty supplements and health snacks for a while, the Healf calendar is the perfect way to do that.
Everything is research-focused, and it’s backed by Claudia Schiffer, so what’s not to love?!
Healf’s Advent calendar is available to pre-order now, and will be shipped from 26 October onwards. All I can say is that you better get in there fast, because if previous years is anything to by (and this year’s absolute craze for longevity) then the calendar is sure to sell out.
