HDI Global, the corporate and specialty insurance business of the HDI Group, has announced that Delphine Leroy will become Managing Director of its French operations on 1 January 2027.

She will take over from Jean-Marie Haquette, who is retiring following almost four decades in the insurance and reinsurance sectors. The appointment remains subject to regulatory approval.

Leroy joins HDI Global with close to 30 years of experience in insurance, including senior management positions at several international insurers. She most recently held the position of General Manager France at QBE.

Before joining QBE, she was Managing Director France and Head of South Europe at CNA Hardy. Her professional background covers a range of functions, including underwriting, distribution, risk management and executive leadership.

According to HDI Global, the appointment reflects its plans to maintain a consistent approach to serving clients and brokers in France while continuing to develop its business in the country.

David Hullin, Member of the HDI Global SE Executive Board, responsible for international regions excluding DACH and the USA, as well as Multinational Programmes, commented: “I would like to thank Jean-Marie for his outstanding contribution to HDI Global France and for the strong foundation he has built. Under his leadership, our French operations have further strengthened their position in a strategically important market.

“I am delighted to welcome Delphine to HDI Global. Her deep market expertise, leadership experience and strong client and broker focus make her ideally positioned to shape our business in France. Together with our experienced team, she will further strengthen our role as a trusted Partner in Transformation for clients and brokers.”

HDI Global describes France as an important part of its international network, through which it provides insurance solutions to clients and broker partners. Its operations combine knowledge of local markets with the company’s global capabilities, which extend across more than 200 countries and territories.

The company said the planned change in leadership would support continuity in its relationships with clients and brokers as it pursues further growth in France.

Haquette has led HDI Global France since September 2022. During his time as Managing Director, the business broadened its capabilities across several areas, developed its offering as a single provider for clients and made further improvements to its operations and claims services. Before joining HDI Global, he held senior roles at international insurance and reinsurance businesses.

Reflecting on his departure, Haquette added: “I am proud to hand over a strong business with an excellent team, trusted client and broker relationships, and a strong position in the French market. This transition reflects the stability and long-term commitment that define our company. I am confident that the business is well positioned to continue its successful development, and that Delphine’s strong leadership will be instrumental in advancing our transformation journey.”

Leroy said: “Throughout my career, I have seen that sustainable success is built by talented people working together with a shared purpose. HDI Global has established a strong position in the French market, and I look forward to working with our teams, clients, and broker partners to build on this success and support their transformation ambitions.”
