Guy Carpenter strengthens LatAm & Caribbean team with Almaraz and Genovese appointments

Guy Carpenter, global reinsurance broker and Marsh business, has announced the appointments of James Almaraz and Robert Genovese as managing director and vice president, respectively.

Headquartered in Miami, Almaraz and Genovese have a strong portfolio and deep expertise in the health reinsurance space, which will enhance Guy Carpenter’s health reinsurance capabilities in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Their addition is expected to complement the company’s analytical and actuarial capabilities and help support its continued growth in the region.

Both executives come from Worldwide Insurance Associates (WIA), an international risk management and insurance agency specializing in the Latin American market, and Almaraz has been with the insurance brokerage for 33 years.

Guy Carpenter’s recent appointments include Almaraz and Genovese, following Dennis Sugrue as head of international business intelligence.

In this role, Sugrue is tasked with developing industry risk insights to drive the broker’s thought leadership and client solutions.

He will also work closely with the firm’s brokerage, analytics and advisory teams to provide clients with differentiated perspectives.
