Global reinsurance brokerage and risk advisory firm Gallagher Re has announced the appointment of Liu Jun as head of China’s Ministry of Agriculture, in addition to his current role as deputy head of the Beijing team.
The executive joined Gallagher Re from Datong Insurance in 2025 as deputy director of the reinsurance department in Beijing.
Following 12 years with Guy Carpenter, Jun served as a director of Aon-China Insurance Brokers Limited for three years.
During his tenure at Guy Carpenter, he held a variety of positions, including Account Manager, Assistant Vice President, Vice President and Senior Vice President.
A spokesman for Gallagher Re said: “Jun has over 18 years’ experience in the reinsurance industry and deep expertise in the agricultural sector.”
Adding: “His strong leadership and market insights position him well to drive continued growth and enhance our capabilities in this area.”
