EPIC Insurance Brokers & Advisors, Inc. (EPIC), a national insurance brokerage and advisory firm, announced the appointment of James R. Pierce as Chairman of its Natural Resources Business Unit.
In this role, Pearce will further strengthen the business’s capabilities, support the recruitment of senior talent and help deliver tailored risk and insurance solutions to clients across the energy industry. He will also guide the practice’s long-term strategy and culture while strengthening its expertise.
He has over 25 years of industry experience in the energy and risk consulting markets, building and leading highly respected businesses throughout his career.
Pierce joined EPIC in June 2025 as a senior advisor and played a key role in expanding the company’s presence and credibility in the natural resources sector, developing strategic relationships with leading organizations and positioning the company for continued growth.
Prior to joining EPIC, he served as chairman of Marsh Specialty’s global energy and power division.
Previously, Pierce served as Chairman of JLT Specialty USA and was Vice Co-Chairman of JLT Specialty’s Energy, Power and Mining segment.

EPIC’s Natural Resources business will continue to focus on the upstream and midstream sectors while expanding its renewable energy capabilities across the country. As the business develops, the company also plans to expand its product range into downstream and power-related business areas.
