Arrow Global Group, a pan-European investment management company specializing in private credit and real estate, has appointed Enrico Bertagna as CEO of Arrow MGA Solutions, the managing general agency partners division within Arrow Global Insurance (AGI).
Arrow Global said the appointment was part of its strategy to strengthen AGI’s MGA business and expand its specialty insurance business in continental Europe.
Bertagna will oversee Arrow MGA Solutions, which is responsible for building and managing MGA partnerships across the business. Arrow Global said the unit plays a central role in AGI’s plans to expand its specialty non-catastrophe insurance products in markets where underwriting expertise, structured solutions and disciplined capital deployment are critical.
Arrow Global describes AGI as an important component of its broader European investment platform, integrating underwriting, origination and investment capabilities into a scalable and capital efficient structure for investors. AGI focuses on specialized non-catastrophe insurance areas, including ex-post insurance, contingent and transactional risks, credit-related risks and guaranteed products, particularly in areas where traditional insurance companies may have limited participation, the company said.
AGI’s platform includes Toremis Specialty, a managing general agent focused on legal and transactional risks, and Halldora Re Ltd, AM Best’s A-rated reinsurer, backed by institutional capital, to provide underwriting capabilities.
Bertagna joins Howden from his current role as Managing Director of Bowood Europe, the brokerage group’s professional binding agency and MGA business.
He previously held senior leadership roles at Zurich Insurance Group, including Global Head of MGA Solutions and Global Head of MGA Networks at Zurich Global Ventures. Earlier in his career, he worked for Lloyd’s for over twenty years in a range of European and international market development roles, as well as holding senior business development roles at Allied World.
