Global specialist reinsurance brokerage Consilium has appointed Samuel Outram as managing partner of its energy risk solutions division, expanding its specialist energy capabilities.
Outram is a broker with over 17 years of experience in the upstream and midstream energy markets, with deep expertise in operator well premiums/controls, energy-related PD and energy packages.
Most recently, he served as Energy Sector Director at Amwins Global Risks. Prior to this, he held energy brokerage positions at Roberts Armytage & Partners and Cogent International.
Outram’s appointment follows the appointment of Johnny Hilliard, who was appointed managing partner of Consilium’s energy division in February this year.
This team expansion is the latest step in Consilium’s strategy to build an “integrated energy platform”. It now has expertise across a broad range of complex risk allocations, underpinned by a detailed understanding of the changing geopolitical, environmental and commercial dynamics shaping the global energy landscape.
Peter Coleman, CEO of Consilium, commented on the appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Samuel to our team – our dynamic entrepreneurial model continues to attract some of the best talent in the market. Energy is a strategically important growth area for Consilium globally.
“As the industry continues to evolve, clients need expert advice, deep technical capabilities and innovative solutions more than ever. With Johnny and now Samuel on board, we have a great platform to continue to build on.
“Our independent model, expertise and continued investment in technology through ATOMX create a compelling proposition for brokers and clients. We see huge opportunities ahead in the energy sector and Samuel’s appointment is another important step towards achieving our long-term ambitions in the industry.”
