Bermuda-based global reinsurer Everest has appointed Peter Chalkias as Australia country head and chief financial officer.
Chalkias brings extensive insurance industry experience to his new role. His professional background includes deep expertise in financial risk, risk management, accounting, financial planning and business process improvement.
He initially joined Everest Australia in 2013 as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, he spent nearly 13 years at global insurance company Chubb, where he served as head of external reporting and financial operations.
Throughout his career, Chalkias also worked for Chubb Benefits Company for 12 years.
Chalkias is one of Everest’s latest appointments, following the appointment of industry veteran Lisa Davis as head of North America, wholesale and specialty operations in early May.
In his new role at Everest, Davis will be responsible for the company’s North American wholesale and specialty businesses, including underwriting guidance, distribution oversight and portfolio management across the region.
