BMS Group, an independent global insurance and reinsurance broker, has announced the appointment of Paul Sheriff as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director.

Sheriff will succeed Charlie Rozes in November 2026. Rozes has decided to leave the Group after almost two years following a succession planning process.

In his new role, Sheriff will be based in London and will report to Nick Cook, BMS Group CEO.

He joins BMS Group following a decade at NewDay, where he most recently served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to that, Sheriff held Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer roles at Legatum, Record plc and Arbuthnot Banking Group plc.

Cook said, “Paul brings over 30 years of experience in the financial services sector, alongside a wealth of private equity expertise. He joins us from NewDay (backed by KKR and previously Cinven, CVC and Värde Partners), where he served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer. His background will be incredibly valuable as we build on our strong foundations and accelerate the Group’s next phase of growth. Prior to NewDay, Paul was chief financial officer and chief operating officer across several prominent organisations, Legatum (Dubai), Record plc, and Arbuthnot Banking Group plc. Earlier in his career, he held senior finance roles at Prudential plc and trained at Arthur Andersen.”

Commenting on Rozes’ departure, Cook added, “Charlie joined the Group to help drive our growth strategy and to design and lead our global finance transformation programme. Under his leadership, we have strengthened cost management, cash and working capital efficiency, and financial reporting across the Group.

“Drawing on his extensive public company and board experience, Charlie has helped BMS make significant advances across these areas. The foundations established during his tenure have supported the strong growth in revenue, margins, and EBITDA that BMS is delivering in 2026 and expects to continue into 2027. Following the announcement of the sale of our US reinsurance business, Charlie has concluded that it is time for him to move on to a new opportunity. Charlie will remain a significant shareholder and investor in BMS, and I know that he will continue to follow our progress with pride. He leaves with our sincere thanks for his contributions and our very best wishes for the future.”
