Atrium partners with Sofix to launch AI-powered BrokerBrief for claims operations

Atrium, a specialist insurer operating in the Lloyd’s market, has partnered with insurtech provider Sofix to launch BrokerBrief, an AI-driven solution designed to enhance claims processing.

The deployment brings automated claims analysis and summarization into Atrium’s processes across all business categories.

BrokerBrief, developed by Sofix and integrated into Atrium’s existing claims management system, converts early claim notices and related documents into clear, structured summaries.

This information is automatically attached to each claim file, allowing handlers and adjusters to stay on top of the situation without having to browse through multiple emails, attachments, or scattered records.

The platform complements the traditional broker submission process by consolidating key claim details, verification checks and coverage considerations into a single standardized output. As more documents are received, summaries are dynamically updated, ensuring the claim record remains up-to-date at every stage.

By maintaining continuously updated claims data, BrokerBrief also provides the foundation for advanced analytics and decision support tools. This helps claims teams speed up initial assessments and supports more consistent, data-based results.

“BrokerBrief transforms unstructured claims information into a structured, constantly refreshing view of claims, helping handlers and adjusters act faster and make more informed decisions,” commented Carla Viana, chief data scientist at Sofix. “Instead of piecing together positions from multiple sources, teams get a clearer starting point directly from the document.”

Andrew Johnson, Head of Licensing Supervision and Operations Support at Atrium, added: “Claims are a critical moment; it’s the reason our customers buy insurance. Our focus has always been on delivering a fast, seamless claims experience and this new tool takes that even further. By driving real efficiencies for our brokers and customers, we are helping them get back to normal faster and move forward with confidence.”

The rollout builds on Sofix’s existing integration with the Insurer Market Repository (IMR), allowing insurers and managing agents to extract, review and interpret large volumes of claims data.

The platform transforms unstructured content, such as loss adjuster reports, broker communications and expert evidence, into clear, usable insights. This helps claims teams assess complex documents faster, spot patterns and maintain consistency with Lloyd’s market requirements.
