AM Specialty Insurance Group has appointed Joe Harding as UK corporate managing director of Pinpoint UK.
Harding has around 15 years of underwriting experience in the commercial and professional sectors of the London market and joins Pinpoint UK from Aspen Insurance Group as an underwriter.
Prior to joining Aspen, Harding spent more than seven years at Allied World in a variety of underwriting leadership roles, including underwriter, senior underwriter and assistant vice president, commercial division.
Harding began his underwriting journey at Gravity Underwriting Ltd, gaining experience in underwriting and risk management functions.
In his new role at Pinpoint UK, he will be responsible for leading the company’s enterprise-focused underwriting strategy, supporting the development of scalable specialist insurance solutions and strengthening broker and client relationships across the UK market.
PinPoint UK said the appointments reflect the company’s continued investment in experienced underwriting leadership as it expands its presence in the UK wholesale insurance market and strengthens its corporate underwriting capabilities.
Readers may recall that last December, Pinpoint UK received approval from Lloyd’s of London to operate as an authorized underwriter, strengthening its presence in the UK and London markets and enabling direct access to Lloyd’s through a locally established underwriting platform to support the long-term growth of its specialist insurance product line.
Not long ago, AM Specialty Insurance Company (UK) received authorization from the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority to carry out regulated insurance activities in the UK, becoming the first insurance company to receive approval under the regulator’s accelerated authorization route.
